Petra Korner AAC
Petra is from Vienna, Austria, but has really led a nomadic life with chapters living in the South of France, New York, Paris, Los Angeles and Buenos Aires. She is fluent in German, English, French & Spanish. She found her life-calling at a very young age, and subsequently received her cinematographic education from NYU’s Tisch School of Arts, FAMU Prague, and the American Film Institute Conservatory (AFI).
Both in commercials as well as films, her work has received numerous awards. For her career achievement in cinematography, Petra was honored with the “Kodak Vision Award” at the Women in Film Awards in Hollywood. Four of her feature films have been in competition at Sundance, two of which (“Umrika” and “The Wackness”) took home the Dramatic Audience Award. The films she has shot have starred leading actors such as Sir Ben Kingsley, Mickey Rourke, Winona Ryder, Billy-Bob Thornton and Kim Basinger, to name but a few. Petra is passionate about atmospheric and powerful images, and loves to work with bold storytellers. Petra is a member of the ICG Hollywood, but is London-based.
